home terms and conditions
Before placing an order with us, please read
and accept our terms and conditions hereafter.
Your order
- Customers are requested to complete the order form fully and
accurately. Should there be any error in the details provided for
the recipient or for the amount to pay, we cannot be held
responsible for the failure to deliver. Charges related to
forwarding or reshipping the package to another recipient or to a
different delivery address will be the responsibility of the
customer.
- No order is accepted by L'artisan du chocolat until the order
has been checked and approved. If there is a problem, we will
e-mail you within 2 working days (excluding Saturdays and Sundays).
In the event that we cannot satisfy your order due to stock
unavailability, we will contact you to offer you an alternative.
However, if this would prevent us from meeting your required
delivery date, we will send suitable substitutes of the same or
higher value and contact you afterwards.
- The right of withdrawal of 8 days does not apply to contracts
for the supply of perishable food products such as chocolates.
Modification or cancellation by the customer may be accepted whist
the parcel is in preparation only. In this case of cancellation,
the charges will be refunded. However, a discretionary fee may be
applied for administrative cancellation charges. From the time the
parcel is handed over to the carrier, no modifications or
cancellations may be accepted and the charges will not be
refunded.
- We advise against chocolate deliveries to warmer countries
and/or in summer months when temperatures are higher than that of
the UK average summer. We have no control over temperatures during
international chocolate deliveries and so we cannot accept
responsibility for any chocolate deliveries that have been heat
damaged.
- You may cancel orders for non food items at any time within 8
days of receipt without reason, for a refund of the full purchase
price less postage and packing charges. This is conditional on the
return of goods to us in their original packaging and perfect
condition within 14 days of the date of cancellation. Returning
items under this Guarantee is the responsibility of the purchaser.
We do not accept responsibility for return postage costs or items
lost or damaged in transit to us or in any other circumstances
beyond our control, except at our discretion.
- Tasting events: if you have booked for a specific date but
cannot attend, you need to let us know at least 5 working days
before the tasting. We will then provide you with a list of
alternative dates, valid for 1 year. Should you or your guest fail
to warn us in due time of your incapacity to come to the event, you
will be charged a "no show" fee of £15 per person.
- A processed order can be tracked through the previous order
section of the order history page. This is located on the 'Your
Account' menu.
Our prices
- The prices indicated on the order form are in British pounds
and include Vat of 17.5%.
- The prices are subject to change.
- The prices do not include delivery charges. Delivery charges
depend on the value of the order, the country of destination, the
speed of delivery as well as the weight and the volume of the
package. They include a contribution to the cost of preparation of
the parcel and the transportation costs.
- For further information on these charges, take a look at our
deliveries and pick ups
- There is no import tax into the countries of the European Union
or the USA. For other countries, any import taxes and any customs
to be paid on entry of the parcel into the country are the
responsibility of the addressee and are payable on delivery.
- On particularly fragile and precious items such as our
chocolate pots, the P&P quoted on the site for that item will
include insurance for damages up to the value of the item.
Your payment
- To be accepted, your order must be paid for in full. Orders not
paid for cannot be delivered.
- We reserve the right to modify the amount to be charged if you
have selected the wrong delivery charge. We will email you within 2
working days after receiving your order should it happen.
- Payments are made immediately on order using the following
credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Maestro or American Express. The
currency used for the transaction is the British pounds. The
amount, debited from the account of the credit card holder, will
depend on the exchange rate on the day of the debit and any
exchange charges made by the bank that issued the card.
- The payment security protocol used guarantees the total
confidentiality of the personal information transmitted on the
Internet.
- The transfer of ownership of the products to the customer only
takes effect after the customer has paid the price in full. The
transfer of risk is made from the time the addressee has
acknowledged receipt of the products.
Claims and
returns
- We aim to please. Any comment or complain will be received with
attentive goodwill
- On reception of the products, the customer must always check
that the delivery is in conformity with his order. Any damage must
be noted accurately, dated and signed on the delivery note. We
always recommend writing "unexamined" on the delivery note if you
do not have time to fully check the state of the parcel there and
then.
- Any claims must be made within a maximum time of 48 hours after
reception of the parcel by email. After this period, no claims will
be accepted. The reason for the claim must be stated and
accompanied by evidence justifying the prejudice suffered.
Following an evaluation and acceptance of the complaint by
L'artisan du chocolat, the customer may choose between
reimbursement of his order or a second delivery.
- Please note that the pictures on our site are not
contractual.
- In general we do not accept returns of perishable food
items.
- Any return of a product must be formally agreed between
L'artisan du chocolat and the customer and be returned within 48
hours of the agreement. After this period, no return will be
accepted.
- Any return accepted by L'artisan du chocolat because of a
visible fault or the non-conformity of the products delivered
ascertained by L'Artisan du Chocolat will enable the customer to
receive a free replacement or the restitution of a credit note in
his favour, with the exclusion of any other form of indemnity or
the payment of damages and interest.

- Privacy: we process all your information in the strictest
confidentiality. Your data entered on line are recorded on a secure
server and are immediately encrypted.
- These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory
rights
Our commitment
- We guarantee the quality and freshness of our chocolates within
the shelf life indicated on the product and the website and
assuming the products have been kept in cool, dry and odourless
conditions in their original packaging.
- We commit ourselves to providing an excellent service. If you
have sent chocolates or received a gift with which you are not
entirely happy, please contact us with your comments on how we can
improve.

products which are intended for your personal use or that of the
person to whom your order is addressed.
