Dark 70% chocolate disks studded with roasted almonds, Pomana soaked raisin and cocoa nibs.
These mendiants originate from the Provencal tradition to end the Christmas meal with 13 simple desserts, 4 of which were called "mendiants". They symbolised the 4 mendicant monastic orders and the colour of their robes: raisins for the Domenicans, hazelnuts for the Augustins, dried figs for the Franciscans and almonds for the Carmelites. Today "mendiant" is a term used to name chocolate combined with fruits and nuts. Our version has almonds, raisins and cocoa beans.
