Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 250g flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 150g butter at room temperature
  • 200g brown sugar
  • 100g white sugar
  • 1 egg split egg white from yellow
  • 300g Artisan dark chocolate chips
  1. Sift the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt
  2. Cream the butter and sugars until fluffy
  3. Beat in the egg and yolk, one at a time
  4. Add sifted mix to the paste. Add the chocolate chips
  5. Cover and leave in fridge for a couple of hours
  6. Preheat oven to 170 C
  7. Form dough in balls and place on plaque lined with baking paper but leave enough space between them
  8. Bake for about 10 minutes
  9. For soft cookies, take out of the oven as soon as the cookies are golden brown around the edges
  10. Take the cookies and paper off the plaque to cool
  11. Keep safe from relatives and neighbours, fingers licking is allowed, even encouraged
