Plums, Milk Chocolate and Walnut Cake

  • 175 g butter
  • 500 g plums destoned
  • 175 g light brown sugar
  • 175 g self raising flour
  • 125 g walnuts (chopped)
  • 150 g milk chocolate
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsb baking powder
  • 2 spoons Plum jam
  1. Beat the sugar and butter.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time whist still beating
  3. Add the plums, chocolate broken in small bits and the chopped nuts. Keep some nuts to decorate the cake
  4. Sieve the flour and baking powder and add to the mix
  5. Line a metal cake tin with butter or use a flexible silicon round mould and bake at 160 degrees for 50 minutes
  6. Spoon some of the plum jam on the warm demouded cake and sprinkle with more chopped walnuts. For those wanting an extra chocolate kick, you can also sprinkle some grated milk chocolate when the cake is cool.
